Squeegee rubber is a key component in the screen printing (silk screen) process, responsible for evenly distributing and transferring ink through the screen mesh onto the material. The final print quality directly depends on the correct choice of squeegee rubber.

The main selection parameters are rubber hardness, measured in Shore units. The higher the Shore value, the harder the rubber, and the less ink it transfers in a single pass. The lower the Shore value, the softer the rubber and the more ink it leaves on the material.

In textile printing, medium hardness of 70–75 Shore is most commonly used, providing an optimal balance between ink volume and detail transfer. For special tasks, soft (60–65 Shore) and hard (80–90 Shore) squeegee rubber are available.

Proper selection of squeegee rubber allows for maximum print quality, regardless of whether water-based inks, plastisols, or special effect compositions are used. The rubber is resistant to chemical components of inks and maintains its properties over a long service life.
